GIRL SCOUT WORKSHOPS
Omaha Children’s Museum is proud to offer more workshops than ever before. Leave the planning and preparation to us. This is a great time for scout leaders to interact with each of their girls as they work with trained museum staff.

Who: Brownies and Juniors
When: Thursdays, 4–8 p.m.
Where: Omaha Children’s Museum, 500 S. 20th St.
Cost: $10; adults are free. Some workshops require an additional fee. There is a discount $4 admission fee per person for girls and adults who wish to experience the museum in addition to their workshop.

BROWNIES

Art to Wear
This Try-It workshop will make you laugh as you spend time with face paints and then make a wonderful African mask. You will be able to complete two of the 4 requirements for this badge: Face Paint and Mask Making. This workshop is 90 minutes.

Write Away
You bring your pictures and we will supply the materials for you to write a story all about you and your family in this Try It workshop. This workshop is 90 minutes.

Building Art
Architects and Engineers do it and you can too. During this Try It workshop you will learn to create a new neighborhood, test the strength of shapes and building 3-D houses at Kids Construction Company. This workshop is 90 minutes.

Colors and Shapes
At this Try It workshop you will make a mobile, weave color patterns, and paint with yarn. This workshop is 90 minutes.

Movers
This fun Try it workshop will keep you on the go. You will make a pinwheel, design a windsock and experiment with balloon and stomp rockets. This workshop is 90 minutes.

Sounds of Music
This Try It workshop will help you discover your rhythm as you construct your own percussion instrument, experiment with strings, rubber bands and straws and make a shoebox guitar. Each girl must supply their own shoebox. This workshop is 90 minutes.

JUNIORS

Rocks ROCK
Each of the girls attending this workshop will receive the GeoSafari Mystery Rock Kit. They will use the kit to excavate 10 real rock specimens. They will dig and uncover, log and record, perform experiments, identify and then display their finds. The great part is that each of the girls take their kit home for continued studies. This workshop is 90 minutes must be booked at least 3 weeks in advance. There is an extra charge of $6 per girl for this workshop.

Sky Search
Study the stars inside our portable planetarium – Starlab. You will learn about the constellations and planets. Activities include making a star finder. This workshop is 60 minutes.

BOY SCOUT WORKSHOPS

Scientist
Scientists take nothing for granted. They may think an idea is true, but they test it over and over to prove it. In this workshop, you’ll do scientific experiments and test some famous scientific laws.
