Whether you’re into dinosaurs, fairytales or robots,
Omaha Children’s Museum has the perfect camp for you!
Get ready for plenty of learning and fun at the museum’s
2008 Summer Camps.
Camps are listed by age, starting with camps
for our youngest campers. All campers must meet the age requirement
for the camp they are attending by May 1, 2008.
Lil'
Partner Pals
Ages: 2-3 year olds with one adult partner
Dates: June 16-20 & August 4-8
Times: 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Share some quality time with a child that you love! Learn
games, songs, finger plays and all kinds of activities perfect
for sharing. Adults will learn how to facilitate play times
with their little ones and preschoolers will learn early sharing
skills and how to participate in easy circle games. Partner
Pals is great for grandparents too! Relearn those nursery
rhymes and Mother Goose games you enjoyed as a child just
right for teaching your newest family members.

Explore the world of the dinosaurs with exciting
and fun kid-centered activities! We’ll investigate the
mysterious disappearance of these great giants through science
experiments, art projects and more! Children will think creatively
and learn to work together as a fossil “dig-team.”

to be a Raptor Ranger?

Join Fizard the Wizard and his friends for
a story-filled week perfect for any child who loves to use
their imagination! Fizard is a flop with his magic tricks,
but when it comes to adventures combined with tales to be
told he is magical indeed! Traditional fairytale based activities,
theater play, puppet making and simple storytelling are just
right for the child who enjoys pretending and active play.
Fizard the Wizard, marionette extraordinaire, will be assisted
by Judy the Jester and a cast of kooky friends.
Become a caravan friend and get ready for a week of fun and
laughter not soon to be forgotten!

Dino Camp
Ages: 7-10

Dinosaurs may be extinct, but this week long
summer camp will bring them to life! Find out what dinosaurs
ate and where they lived. Explore dinosaurs through fossils
and crafts, plus experience the world of dinosaurs through
the museum’s blockbuster exhibit “DinO!saurs:
A Prehistoric Expedition”. Young paleontologists will
“dig” this week of dino-mania learning all they
ever wanted to know about dinosaurs!

Whiz
Bang Science Theater Camp
Ages: 8-12
Dates: July 14-18
Times: 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Do you love science? Have you ever seen our
science shows, like The Amazing Bubble Show and wondered “how
do they do that?” Join us for “Whiz Bang Science
Theater” and learn not only the basics of performing,
but also physics, chemistry, bubbleology and more! Campers
will learn how to take a standard science experiment and turn
it into performance art! At the end of the week, campers will
perform an original science show they will have written and
developed themselves. Science education + performing arts
= messy fun!

Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman
Ages: 8-12
Dates: August 4-8 (this

Ruff Ruffman, star of the hit PBS TV show
“FETCH!” has developed some brand new challenges
and is looking for kids to complete them! Join us for a week
of fun and education as you team-up with other FETCHERS to
complete these exciting (and occasionally messy) challenges
in science, engineering, art and more!
FETCH programming is in partnership with PBS and NET.

GTechU
Ages: 10-14
Dates: July 7-11
Times: 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Cost: Before May 1 $150*; After May 1 - Member

G-TechU is a week of science, technology and
fun using tiny robots called PicoCrickets. Campers will design,
build and program their robots to do everything from lighting
up, to playing music. Any design is possible!
While stretching their imagination, children will learn about
careers in science and technology, and participate in daily
Engineering Challenges! They will take part in the creative
process and learn how everyone is affected by science.
At the end of the week-long camp, campers will show off their
robot inventions to family, friends and museum guests. The
result is a wonderfully creative design, plenty of learning
and a real sense of accomplishment!

*PicoCricket kits can be purchased to take
home and reprogram for an additional $250.

$25.00 non-refundable deposit
required to register students. Cancellations afterJune 1,
but before the beginning of camp, will also be charged a $35
cancellation fee. No cancellations will be refunded after
camp begins.
Class space is limited and
registration is handled on a first-come basis. Parents will
receive an e-mail or telephone confirmation. OCM reserves
the right to cancel camps that do not meet minimum enrollment
and will refund all registration fees in this instance.
