The Great Friends to Kids Luncheon brings together businesses, community and civic leaders to celebrate those who have worked passionately to enhance the lives of metro-area children.
In its second year, this event recognizes individuals and organizations who have worked diligently to make this a wonderful place for children to grow up.

2008 Great Friends to Kids Honorees

Karen Levin is the recipient of the Great Friend to Omaha Children’s Museum award. It was through great passion for children and dedication to the children’s museum concept that Karen led the effort to establish Omaha Children’s Museum for our community. Thirty-two years later, Omaha Children’s Museum inspires over 250,000 guests annually to learn through play and exploration.

Peter Kiewit Foundation is the recipient of the Great Friend to Kids award. Since 1980, the Foundation has changed the face of our community awarding $489 million in grants and scholarships focusing on the arts, education, children and families, community development, health, and human services. Peter Kiewit Foundation has donated nearly $5 million to Omaha Children’s Museum since its inception.
