The museum follows strict internal cleaning procedures and adheres to all safety guidelines issued by the Center for Disease Control concerning the H1N1 virus (swine flu).

Here are a few of the precautions we are taking to help prevent the spread of the H1N1 virus and other illnesses:

- Daily cleaning of all toys and surfaces in exhibit spaces
- Frequent disinfection of high-touch surfaces, such as door knobs, elevator buttons, hand rails and light switches
- Immediate bio clean-up using a virucidal disinfectant
- Numerous hand-sanitizing stations throughout the museum for visitor use
