This interactive enrichment program is designed to help children deal with topics such as diversity, self-esteem and acceptance based on the book The Skin You Live In. The children will follow along as the museum educator presents the book and then uses a puppet to discuss what makes us different and unique. This program also supplies each classroom with their own copy of the book The Skin You Live In. Children will complete the program by making a self-portrait, which will be collected and put on display at the museum. Each student will receive a free pass to
attend the museum with their family to see their picture on display. Pictures will be on display for one month following the program.
The Skin You Live In is in partnership with Chicago Children’s Museum.
