Omaha native Sarah Piper is the museum's Guest Services Manager. She helps keep guests safe and programming on the floor runing smoothly. Affectionately known as "Piper", she knows the museum inside and out.
"I really Like splash splash garden because I love playing in water and everyone from the neighborhood uses it so it just has a good community feel," said Piper, when asked about her favorite spot in the museum.
Piper loves working with kids, and knows the museum is a great place to facilitate learning through play.
"When you see the look in a child’s eyes as they are learning something new and wonderment that is to be found there it makes my heart happy. Children have such a great trust that the world is a good place and that magical things can happen in it," said Piper.
Piper's favorite children's books are
The Giving Tree,
Sesame Street's The Monster at the End of this Book and
Walter the Farting Dog. She appreciates that children are open to all possibilities. Her favorite colors are green and orange, and feels like a superhero when she wears them! When asked if she could be any fictional character, she replied: "I don’t know, but hopefully someone cool and tall!"
Piper cares about each and every guest that enters the museum. Something others may not know about her is that she has climbed a mountain and is a bit of a foodie.
"I like to try weird food and have not turned down a food challenge yet!" she said.
Next time you're in the museum, say hi to Sarah Piper!
