The Green Team
The museum's Green Team is made up of people who are committed to saving the Earth and teaching children to be environmentally conscious citizens. The museum offers programs both on-site and in the community featuring "Garbagena" our recycling expert. "Garbagena" gets green into focus with our craft activities featuring recycled materials and a special week-long extravaganza during Green Week.
Omaha Children's Museum encourages children and families to make healthy choices in their everyday lives. Programs like Healthy Trick-or-Treat Nights bring these healthy options to light. Let's Move, in association with the national initiative, promotes active lifestyles.
Every child who wants to visit Omaha Children's Museum should have the opportunity, that's why the museum's donor-supported Welcome Fund provides subsidized memberships to families that wouldn't otherwise be able to afford them. To donate to this program, click here. To find out how to get a Welcome Fund Membership, click here.
To be the best possible resource for families, the museum is part of the Born Learning campaign, which provides information and suggestions on making early learning fun and easy. For more information, visit the Born Learning web site.
This is a special event for children whose immune systems have been compromised and their families. We have worked with medical professionals to create an environment that is clean, safe and “carefree” so families can learn, play and enjoy time together. For this very special evening, the museum welcomes families free of charge.
A special evening for children with Autism and their families. The museum has worked with UNMC and Autism Action Partnership to create an appropriate environment.
